General Description

The Volleyball Student Manager will aid and support the volleyball coaching staff with the day-to-day management of the program’s needs.

Essential Job Duties

Practice Day Responsibilities (including but not limited to):1. Attend practice on a regular basis2. Help with set up of practice/warm up drills3. Assist the team with any practice activities as requested by the coaches4. Check the equipment and make sure balls are properly inflated before each practice5. Process laundry on a daily basis using proper protocols6. Check inventory of equipment and ensure it is properly maintained Game Day Responsibilities (including but not limited to):1. Set up and breakdown of warm-up drills before and after home games2. Film home games and some practices

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

1. Due to the nature of the position, students are asked to maintain a flexible schedule in order to remain available on nights and weekends2. Positively represent the University of Montevallo and the Volleyball program when interacting with staff, faculty, visitors and students3. Work independently in a fast-paced environment but be willing to ask staff for assistance4. Interact with others in person in a friendly and pleasant manner5. Maintain behavior consistent with being a role model to the UM community6. Ability to use washing and dryer machine for laundry7. Basic knowledge of sports equipment and Volleyball
