SUMMARY:
The Athletic Compliance Coordinator, under general supervision, provides a range of administrative support functions relating to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules application, student-athlete eligibility, recruitment activities and compliance with NCAA, Conference and Texas A&M University-Commerce regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the development and implementation of rules education to coaches, student-athletes, parents, university staff, and boosters to ensure compliance with NCAA, Conference, and Texas A&M University-Commerce regulations.
Assists with the monitoring and evaluating of all NCAA Bylaws.
Reviews and approves official /unofficial visits for prospective student-athletes.
Maintains all compliance software, including but not limited to: Compliance Assistant and ARMS
Assists in tracking NCAA initial-eligibility and TAMUC admissions status for all incoming student-athletes.
Assists with institutional monitoring of transfer eligibility.
Assists with institutional monitoring of National Letter of Intent (NLI’s) and Athletic Aid Agreements.
Provides rules interpretations.
Reviews and tracks countable athletically related activity.
Reviews and tracks coaches logs from recruiting contacts, evaluations, and telephone calls.
Approves student-athlete/team community services and occasional meals.
Assists with NCAA Requests/Self-Reports Online (RSRO) submission of waivers and secondary violations.
Assists in the preparation of annual reports.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One (1) year experience in a NCAA Division I athletic compliance setting at an institutional, conference, or national association level. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA legislation. Must be self-motivated and team-oriented. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to: Multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to accumulate, organize, decipher and interpret bylaws and policies. Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes and other members of the University community. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree or two or more years of experience in a NCAA Division I Athletic Compliance setting at an institutional, conference, or national associate level. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I rules.
